Upon arriving to America in the early 1900's from the farmlands of Reggio Di Calabria, (Southern Italy) the Zappia family unpacked many beautiful Italian traditions, culture and unique “Old World” recipes. My Nonna Rosina Zappia' coveted marinara recipe was much anticipated by family and new friends when settling into our new homeland.
At Zappia, we continue to honor our heritage as Italian Americans by recreating a truly magnificent marinara that's authentic, lower in sodium and vegan friendly. Like our ancestors from Italy to America, we only use the best ingredients imported from Italy and our local markets. The rest is patience and a pinch of love.
